Pure Iceland – 3 nights/ 4 days
kewal shanti

“Chilly” is the first thought that will come to your mind & “far away!”

Pure IcelandThe chilliest thing about Iceland is its name! In January ! …But the average temperature in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, in winter is higher than that in New York. And Iceland’s welcome for tourists is always warm. Almost everyone speaks fluent English and Icelanders aren’t really given to formalities. After all, even the telephone directory lists people by their first name. It’s a short flight away from London or Scandinavia.

Reykjavik is a city where you’ll feel safe to walk the streets. Cozy, charming, a “village feel” and friendly people. But as much entertainment, action and things to do as a metropolis of millions. And with all the modern conveniences, a high quality of life and world-class services.
Where else can you witness such marvels of Mother Nature as a tremendous icecap and several glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes (hopefully dormant), raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a multitude of birds, cavorting whales just offshore, and many other surprises?

Even viewing the midnight sun in summer is possible at Akureyri. In winter Iceland has a store of surprises… the top sensation being the “Northern Lights”. On a dark night (outside the Purnima period) you will be awestruck at the brilliant colours in the sky.

Pure IcelandThe aurora borealis, or northern lights, appears when solar wind particles collide with air molecules in the earth’s atmosphere, transferring their energy into light. Displays can vary in intensity – from a glowing curtain of greenish yellow lights, dancing in the distance to a spectacular, multi-coloured fusion stretching across the sky – but whatever one you’re lucky enough to have, will no doubt make you want to see more.

Imagine yourself on a dark wintery night … snow all around and swimming in a natural hot water spa!

Club7 Holidays has put together an easy to do 3 nights programme to Iceland as an extension to an European Holiday. It is based on staying in Reykjavik where there is one Indian restaurant and few vegetarian restaurants. The schengen visa is valid for visit to Iceland. Extensions are possible at a supplement.
